BETWEEN BORDERS. ROOTS AND FRUITS
Series "Between Borders. Roots and Fruits," 2025
Digital collage
"Between Borders. Roots and Fruits" is my personal exploration of identity as a living, sensory experience. For me, the image of a woman is not a set of qualities but a kind of antenna that senses, transmits, and records the experience of belonging through the body, memory, and inner world.
I live in multicultural Zakarpattia, where various cultures and traditions have intertwined. This teaches me to value differences as a resource, not a threat. At the same time, we are united by a common language, history, state, and the challenges of war, which has revealed an urgent need to clearly understand who we are.
Identity requires boundaries — an understanding of roots, language, and experience. However, it exists only in connection with others. In this series, I speak about belonging as active presence: not only children, but also actions, positions, and interactions. These are the fruits we leave in the world.
